WORDCONNECT automates the all-important
final step in the quote processgenerating proposals and confirmation letters to
clients.
Starting from a "live quote" prepared in SMARTQUOTE, you can create a finished document in a few minutes. WORDCONNECT
automatically merges all of the appropriate information into any of the letter or proposal
formats that youve established. You simply print the file or send it electronically,
and thats it.
You start by setting up a master template thats
consistent with your companys visual identity, including your logo and typefaces.
Its easy to choose between two formatsproposal
or letter. There are two predefined sets of dataone includes all customer, contact
and quote data fields and the other includes account name and quote number. Proposals can
also automatically include "details," "summary" and/or
"terms" sections.
Additional templates are easy to define, including any
combination of data fields you require. You can even customize data queries via Microsoft
Access (or ask your consultant to customize queries for you).
When youre ready to create a proposal or letter, you
simply select an order or quote in SMARTQUOTE and choose the template youd like to use.
WORDCONNECT reads the SMARTQUOTE database using
Microsoft Access, launches Microsoft Word and fills all of the merge fields with the
appropriate data from the selected order/quote. This creates a new document that you can
further customize with personal touches as needed.
